Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

1981 Amnesty Program

I attempted to apply for the LULAC before but the person who was suppose to assist me dissappeared after receiving the money. I have proof that I have continuosly resided in California before 1981. Can I still apply for this amnesty?

Is is true that another amnesty program will be offerred?

Re: 1981 Amnesty Program

In December 2000, the LIFE late amnesty program was passed. If you had not applied for LULAC in the late 80's, however, you probably won't qualify.

The bill for a renewal of the law known as 245i, which is erroneously called a "late amnesty" is getting stalled in the Senate and probably will not pass at all this year. It is NOT an amnesty but the media and people keep calling it that. Only if you have a family or employment petition would you be eligible under that law.
