Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
647F & Green Card
I was cited for 647F (Drunk in Public) couple of years back.
I am in process of applying for Green Card.
Is 647F a criminal offense?
Will 647F influence adversely on Green Card Application?
I would appreciate your feedback.
Thanks
Praj

Re: 647F & Green Card
I presume you're talking about California Penal Code Section 647(f) and not some Minnesota law.
This is only a misdemeanor so it should not result in refusal of your green card application. But, you must disclose it when asked on the application. Also, when asked at the interview if you're an abuser or addict, you must be ready to explain that you're not addicted to alcohol.
