Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
I am a 18 years old born November 6, 1992. When I was about 5 or 6 I was brought to the U.S. I finished elementary, middle and highschool in California(Class of 2010). I took a year off and I will now be going to community college, and I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if i get married with my boyfriend (who is a U.S. Citizen) will I be able to become a Resident, Citizen or something that would make me Legal in this country? If I don't get married, can my child help me?

You can marry and have your husband petition for you to get your greencard. Your child will not be able to apply for you until he/she turns 21. For assistance, please contact my office at 904-576-2581 or email me at [email protected].
If you marry your U.S. Citizen boyfriend, he may petition for you to obtain lawful permanent residence. You cannot immediately become a citizen after marrying your boyfriend. Whether your husband can petition for you without a waiver while you remain in the United States will depend on how you entered the country. If you entered the country without inspection (without a visa), you will need to file for your green card at a U.S. Consulate abroad with a waiver demonstrating your U.S. Citizen/lawful permanent resident spouse or parent would suffer extreme hardship if you were unable to return to the United States.
