Affidavit of support for family of employment-based immigrant
I am going to apply for an employment-based immigration through consular processing. My I-140 is already approved. Do I need to fill out an affidavit of support (sponsored by myself) for my family who are traveling with me, or they will get the visa without such a support anyway?

No, it's not needed for most employment-based immigration cases. The offer of a permanent job position should have been at a sufficient salary to cover you and your family. However, if the petitioner offering you the job is your relative, he or she must execute an affidavit of suppport.

Affidavits of support for family members signed by the main applicant/beneficiary of the I-140 (yourself), are regularly required at consular posts as well as at local INS offices. You should have the completed forms with you on the day of the interview, so that you do not have to come back to a second interview. For some consulates, one affidavit naming all the dependents might be enough, others might require individual ones to be executed for each member of your family travellig with you. Good luck!
