Affidavit of Support

I have a question,

How much does my husband need to make a year for the affidavitt of support? And if he doesnt make enough can we have a co-signer or something like that?

At least 125% of the 2009 Poverty Level, depending on the size of the family. That's $18,212.50 per year gross income for a family of two (husband and wife), $22,887.50 for a family of three, and $4,675 more for each person above that.

This depends on the number of dependents and your household size plus where you live. Check out the poverty guidelines of HHS for a chart of the figures. If he doesn't meet the guideline, he can in other ways, including having a co-signer (called joint or co-sponsor). But even if he doesn't meet the figure by his income, if he has assets three times that amount in net value, then that's another way of meeting it. If your husband is not the U.S. citizen in the family, there are new rules that allow counting his income if he had a work permit at the time.
