Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
American Citizenship revoked
A friend has already served her sentence and is awaiting her release in local jail. She has spent her entire adult life in the United States and was under the impression that she was an American Citizen. Her mother was born in Texas, her father in Mexico. The person in question was also born in Mexico but has no relations to anyone in that country. The court is telling her that she may be sent to Mexico because her citizenship papers were never finalized. What route should she take and who should she contact? Her lawyers seem to be in a tug of war, with no apparent resolution.

Re: American Citizenship revoked
She needs a lawyer that specializes in immigration. The sooner the better. She may have a claim to citizenship based on her mothers.
