Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How do I apply for my green-card, and will I need an attorney

I recently got married to a U.S. resident and she just filed for her citizenship. Would I have to wait for my wife to become a citizen in order to apply for my green-card, or can I submit my application right away? I also have a juvenile record, do I need a lawyer?

Your wife can file a spousal petition for you right now. However, since she's not yet a citizen until she is sworn in as one (probably 1 to 2 yrs, depending on where you live), you'll just be put on a visa waiting list. When your wife becomes a citizen before that time (and it's a good thing she just filed for citizenship), you can apply for your green card and get a work permit. So, by all means, file for the spousal petition now.
