Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Applying for citizenship with one count conviction of 243(e)

Hi, I have a one count conviction of Penal Code Section 243(e). I have my green card already and I want to apply for citizenship. What else do I need to do after expunging my case to make sure that my application will be accepted? In general how difficult this situation is and how much does it cost to overcome this obstacle? Thanks inadvance.

Hello,

It is not clear whether you were convicted of one count of PC 243 (e)(1) or not. Either way, if your crime is a crime of domestic battery, and not domestic violence, it is very likely that your application will be accepted by the Immigration Service.
