Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Aproval of I-130 notice

I have been married to an american citizen for 7 years now, and we just received an aproval notice of the I-130 which was filed on november 2003, now i entered the country illegaly 12 years ago when i was 12 years old, is it possible for me to obtain a ssn or work permit since is not possible for us to apply for the adjustment os status??

We did apply back in 2000 but no answer was returned back to us. Apparently our papers were lost somehow, we do keep copies of the paper work. Is it possible for us to do anything at the moment?

Re: Aproval of I-130 notice

It may be possible to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act to see if the documents were ever received. If that is the case, you should have an attorney research whether 245(i) applies. If so, you may be able to adjust your status.
