Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

B2 visa wants to take course

Hello,

I'm in the country on a B2 visa. I found a course that I'd love to take, but it isn't full-time and so doesn't issue visas. Also, my time will be up half-way through it.

1) Can I enroll with this visa, and

2) Could I apply for an extension of the visa, or change to a B1 visa (the business one, since it is related to my professional interests) from here? I wouldn't like to have to go home, because the course will be starting soon, and also to save money.

Thanks.

usually, you can apply for an extension fo your stay. I can help you with that, if you like.

Education is not a proper visitor or business visitor activitiy, so you cannot legally enroll in the course. Could you consider taking more courses so that you could get a student visa? You can also try the work visa route.
