Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

based on marriage with a citizen-denial of I-485

we informed that we couldn't go to

the interview because of my

studying abroad. We rescheduled by

phone as the notice instructions said

and we got a confirmation number of

this called. Recently, we received a

notice denying my wife's case

because INS said that it was

abandoned. They said that we have

to do a motion to reopen the case

and pay for that. Is this the next

step to follow? what do you

recommend us?

You can do motion to re-open sometimes it takes a year or so. Other alternative is to reapply.
