Good Evening:
Do you remember if they took your fingerprints at the border?
In order to find out what charges are on your record, you can request an FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) check of your background. You would have to find an office that can take your fingerprints for this.
Even though your FBI/DOJ record may be clear, immigration may still have a notation of your arrest at the border, which could have a negative affect on any application for visa.

Re: border protection
You can do a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request which sometimes can be filed and responded to at the border Customs and Border Protection office, but they're not supposed to handle them locally, so you can't be sure it will be handled there. I would file a request there as well as in Washington.

Re: border protection
Dear Inquirer:
You may want to send your fingerprints for an FBI clearance and/or obtain a copy of any US immigration records under the Freedom of Information Act(FOIA).
I recommend that you visit www.hanlonlawgroup.com or email me at [email protected] if you would like to schedule an appointment for a confidential consultation to discuss this matter further.
