Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
My case has never been filed with a court but I was arrested for no reason and I paid bail money for no reason only to get out of the jail in 2004. I was told by a counsel "The case was never filed, so I cannot fight the case on the issue of a seizure, or anything like that. There is actually no case number." However, when I arrived at the airport 1 year ago, I was asked for investigation by the immigration office. The counsel says that there is no record in the police department as well. I think I was deceived by the police department. I only know the detective's name and I have the receipt of bail money. What action can I take so that I don't need to go through the same embarrassing investigation any longer in the airport? Since there was no record to seal, my motion to seal was denied. I think this legal system is abusing people from other countries only to make money from them.
