How to change an incorrect birthdate to the correct one
Dear Madam/Sir:
My wife was born on September 9, 1956, but her driver's license say she was born on September 9, 1942. Her first marriage was to a U.S. civilian posted in Taiwan. The husband's office friend filled out the marriage license form and the wrong date was put on the license because of a mix-up when the fellow was filling in the form. The day it was being filled out was 4-2-74. That may have been the problem; the date was translated into the year. Or the problem may have been a peculiar way in which the Tiawanese kept track of years starting in 1912 when their leader Dr. Sun Ya Tzen took over. At any rate the wrong date on the marriage license was transferred over to the international driver's license, the U.S. passport and the California Driver's license. My wife had an attorney drew up some forms for all here sisters and brothers to sign stating her actual birthdate. She has the signed statements. How can we get a judge to make her official birthday her actual birthdate? Is this something someone could do without an attorney's help? We want to get her a new passport with the correct date on it. Also, do you know how long such a procedure might take?

Talk to D.M.V...I know if you can show proper documentation it can be corrected. Then use that to get other documents corrected.
