Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
I became a US citizen last September (2010) via marriage.
My spouse and I have been married for less than five years (got married on 11/2006)
We are thinking about getting a divorce (dissolution) now.
Would my citizenship be at risk if we file for dissolution now? We are in very good terms and wouldn't be a problem waiting but we are not in a romantic relationship anymore and have plans of living in different countries so we thought getting divorcing would be the best thing to do.
I read that the only way to get your citizenship revoked was by betrayal...maybe there was another reason but a summary dissolution wasn't one of them. I just want to be sure.
Thank you.

You should not lose your citizenship if you get divorced.
