please clarify me on this

hi

are h1b and h1 the same...i recently reentered US on h1b and it says h1 on my i94

please clarify

It's the same basically. The I-94 just isn't as specific as the petition approval notice. It's totally fine.

Obviously, H-1 is missing the letter B, which stands for the type of the visa. I would recommend to return to the airport you arrived to, go to the International Terminal, to find out where the CBP Office is and change the Form I-94. The presence in the U.S. is controlled by the Form I-94, not the visa in the passport.
