Contempt of Court

When filling an N-400, does being held in contempt of Court five times consitute a violation of law or being convicted of a crime. If yes, why?

There are two types: civil contempt and criminal contempt. It depends on which type you were found guilty of. But, five times? I don't think it will look very good for you, unless you have a reasonable explanation for what happened.
