Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
convicted but need to travel into the US
I was convicted of #1302 - US title 18 section 1302, received time served and released from custody in LA and left the country on my own. I now 3 years later need to know if I am allowed to enter the US or what I need to do to be able to.

Try to apply for a tourist visa anyway and see what the consulate officer has to say. This crime has to do with using the mail to send lottery tickets or similar items, and that might be considered a crime of "moral turpitude", especially if it involves fraud. If that's the case, the consulate will probably find you inadmissible and deny you a visa.
