Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

i discovered that my girl friend is here illegally (although she entered legally with a transit visa in 2001 and applied for lulac but did not proceed). i am ready to marry her. someone told her that the adjustment of status will be denied and she will be deported. how true is this? thanks.

Since she entered the country with a visa, she should be able to apply for her green card through her marriage to you while staying in this country.
