Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Employer's petition

i had been petitioned by nursing registry here in california as a registered nurse and ive been working for them for a year now. i had signed a contract with them for two years but apparently id been unhappy with the current working condition with them so i spoke to the president of this agency and requested if i could just buy out my contract with them per contract agreement but they refuse and instead they made mention that if im really interested in buying out that contract i had to come up with atleast $27,000.00 which i think is unbelievable plus their is no such amount was stipulated in that contract aside from the amount $10,800 as part of the legal and documentation fees that they have paid according to them in processing my immigration papers, currently my I140 AND I485 are being process by the uscis and has a waiting time of 170 to 250 days to be process.my question is could i juz resign and pay the $10,800.00 that they claim spent for my papers so i could get a better paying job someplace else? what is going to happen if i do that? i have someone who is willing to take over my petition which would give me good medical and benefit package as comapare with them which i dont get any.pls respond to this emal coz iam desperat
