employment authorization card

I am currently on L2.I have an expired employment authorisation card 08/29/07. I had to go to india in june . what do I have to do for getting my EAD renewed?

As long as you are maintaining your L2 status, you could submit an application for an employment authorization document (I-765).

You mentioned that you would be traveling. Your EAD has no bearing on your ability to travel. As long as you have a valid L2 visa stamp, you do not need your EAD card to re-enter the United States.

The purpose of the EAD is solely to grant you authorization to work.
