Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Entered illegally now married.
My husband entered the states illegally about 15yrs ago. He has a state job, and goes to college and everything. Now I a U.S. Citizen married him about a month ago. How do we go about making him a citizen.

Re: Entered illegally now married.
As a U.S. Citizen, you can apply for your husband to obtain permanent residence ("green card"). However, because he entered illegally and without inspection, he must return to his country of origin to receive his green card. You must be careful because by leaving the U.S., your husband may be prohibited from re-entering the U.S. for up to 10 years.
