Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

F3 Visa

I am a married son (over 21 years of age) of a US citizen.

My dad (the petitioner) has received a letter from the NVC to send a $380 visa fee. In another letter they authorized him to prepare the Affidavit of Support forms.

He sent the the money last week and filled in and sent the I-864 form as well.

Now my question is do you have any idea when they will send my case to the embassy in order to setup an interview time for me?

Is there any other correspondence or documents needed? how long the security check will take?

Re: F3 Visa

If your father sent the original petition before April 2001 and if you have been physically present in the in the United States since December 2000, you don't need to go to the Embassy, rather, you can get your permanent residence ("green card") in the United States.
