Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

My father in law has files for an extension of his TPS and they are still reviewing it. His job will not let him work although he has proof he has filed. Can his job say no he cannot work ?

As long as he has a valid EAD (work permit), then they cannot terminate his employment just for that reason.

However, sometimes USCIS must issue a blanket automatic extension of the expiring EADs for TPS beneficiaries of a specific country in order to allow time for EADs with new validity dates to be issued. If his countrys EADs have been automatically extended, it will be indicated on his country specific pages to the left.

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a formal automatic EAD extension for TPS applicants from Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Liberia, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan and the Syrian Arab Republic (Syria).
