Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

hi, im a french citizen living in France and my fiance went to California and shes an american citizen..and we want to live together in L.A but we don't want to get married now, we want to get stable first..and i was wondering if there's a way for me to go there and obtain a working visa? and her dad as a stone marble business there, can he apply for me to get a work permit by sponsoring me?and i only have an high school diploma.. if not is there any other fast way for me to go and join her and work at the same time?can a personal lawyer fix it fast?
