Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Best friend

My best friend needs help. She wants to know if she can work legally in the US if she found an employer who will sponsor her on a working visa. She is in the US with a ''Not authorized to work'' social security card. The problem is: She came to the US in 1986 on a B1-B2 visa; divorced husband in the Phil.; INS meeting on status in US twice in 1992; INS Deportation Order to Phil. on 1993; FOIA Request on Case History on INS on 1995; INS transcript showed 1992 interview scheduled canceled twice in 1992; case on hold 1995; married naturalized US citizen in 1996. She does not know what to do and she does not want to go back to the Phil. She needs authorization to work legally in the US since she supports her children. Please help her. Thanks.

Re: Best friend

If she is currently married to a US citizen she should have him petition her for her green card. Caution: The underlying deportation order must be dealt with, so it is advisable to seek assistance from a competent immigration attorney for the process.
