German Citizen wanting to obtain a U.S. Green card

what steps would a german citizen take to obtain permanent U.S. residency? Is it possible, and how long would it take if so?

Germans are not treated differently than other nationalities. All depends on your working or family relationships. It could take from six months to five years, depending on the specifics.
