Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Germany Visa

My friend is going to work in Germany for his company that is based in the United States. He going to do a project for 3 weeks to 6 Months. He understands that he will have to get German work Visa. He is concerned becasue when he was in college he was convicted of a felon and spent time in Jail. He is concerned that this will be a problem with him getting a work Visa. Is this something that he should be worried about. Is there anything that he should do? He also lied on the Visa Application stating that he was never arrested.

Thanks,

Re: Germany Visa

I believe I answer your question a couple of days ago on this same board. Your friend should consult with a lawyer who is knowledgeable about German immigration law (most likely a German lawyer). Most of us here only know US immigration law. In any event, I think lying on the visa application about a felony was a bad idea, no matter which country it's for!
