Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
My grandpa is married to an immigrant and she is filing for residency by saying she has been domestically abused but my grandpa has never done so can he go to jail? she verbally abuses him and at his home he sleeps in the living room while she sleeps in the bedroom my grandpa comes to my house hungry and depressed. he does not know she is filing residency under those conditions. what can I do?

If your grandmother does not contact law enforcement about the alleged abuse, then your grandfather will not be arrested merely by the fact that she filed a VAWA claim. Furthermore, VAWA terminated a while ago, so unless this is an older case, she won't be approved anyway.
Unfortunately, your grandfather cannot do anything, other than file for divorce & possibly get a restraining order against her. He needs to contact a Family Law Attorney on this matter.
