Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Green Card

My parents have a green card. My

dad was here for 2 1/2 months then

went to India and there he had to

have emergency surgery due to

which he cannot travel for the next

3 months. When he returns in late

Oct he will have a toal of 2 1/2 + 2

more months (Nov, Dec) from the

whole year. Does this pose a problem

for entering the country?

Does he have to apply for an

extension? Please advise. They got

the GC in 2006.

It should not be a problem. If he wants to stay out for more than a year he should apply for re-entry permit.
