H1-B visa --- Green Card Application

I am an working as an Engineer and my employer has offered to file for a Green Card on my behalf which I will be paying for. I haven't said yes because I am thinking of applying for a new job. Would I have a problems if I accept my CURRENT employer's offer and while it is being processed, leave the CURRENT employer and transfer to ANOTHER COMPANY? Please help....

The portability of the petition that would be filed would only be allowed after the case has been on file for several months, depending on the type of "green card" application filed.
