Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Hello,
I was just told today that I might be denied U.S. citizenship and possibly deported for a misdemeanor (inflicted injury of child). This happened in January 2009. I served my time in county jail and went through counseling. I did everything I was told and nothing has happened since and I have no prior convictions. I have 3 children that are citizens and I have not been to Mexico since I was 10 years old. It's foreign country to me. What am I up against and do I still have a chance to become an American citizen and not face deportation? I was told to send my arrest report, which I just did and they have all the other transcripts of what happened. I did this right away and I have nothing to hide. I'm very scared and I need advice. Please help.
