Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hi,

I have a question regarding the employement. I am a H1B visa holder

I accepted an offer last month from a company and comany started my LCA filing for wage approval.

In the meantime I got an offer from my dream company and I called the old company that I cannot join them.at that time old company didnt paid H1B tranfer fees to USCIS.

Now the old company sent me a bill of legal fees of $3000 ,which they spent on attorney to prepare my H1B transfer application.

Now my question is, Am I legally laible to pay this amount? what are my options?

Can they sue me for this?

Regards

Hello:

Under immigration law, you are not required to pay this amount. However, you may have a separate contract with the company which requires you to pay it.
