Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hi,

I'm in the USA as a French E-2, meaning I depend on my French husband's E-1.

Now, we want to divorce and I would like to stay in the USA, find a full time job applying for a TN-2, since I'm also Mexican.I saw on the list of qualifying jobs that I could apply for a Teacher position.( I have a Masters in Languages, Literature & History and speak 5 languages)

QUESTION 1: Can I apply for any type of independent small Academies or does it have to be a College, Seminary or University? (http://www.nafta-sec-alena.org/en/view.aspx?x=343&mtpiID=147#Ap1603.D.1)

QUESTION 2: Besides asking my potential employers a "letter of employment" are there any other things I should inform them about? (fees, time processing etc.)

Thank you for your time and attention

Hi,

My offices can give you a consultation on your work visa issues. You can call my offices at 408-245-2416. A letter of employment is one of the documents but not the only one to procure a work visa.

You might have different options. For example, if an employer is willing to sponsor you, you might apply for H-1B or TN. We suggest you to consult with an immigration attorney to discuss all options before you fall out of status.
