Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
No Hiring Paperwork Done for On-Campus Job
I am an international student on F-1 visa and only allowed to work on campus. I worked on campus as a TA for a professor of my university during summer for a few weeks. But, I was not hired by any on-campus department but by a summer academy for high school students for which classes were held on my college campus. But, no hiring paperwork was done for me. In order to pay me, I was just made to fill out an invoice stating what work I did and the number of hours and my total salary. I also had to enter my SSN. I received a paycheck from a personal bank account of the head of the academy and I deposited in my account. I did mention in my invoice that my job was on-campus and for an on-campus Professor. I know that the Social Security Administration knows that I did this job.
I have 2 questions:
1. Will I be in any kind of trouble because there was no hiring paperwork done?
2. What about tax? I don't think I will receive a W-2 for that. Will that be a problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On-Campus employment is employment authorized already. More specific information requires a deeper look into your facts.
