Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hi, My husband and I both are permanent residents of US. We got our green card in July 2009. We have been together for 12 years and married for 6.

We recently filed for divorce. I would like to know how divorce would affect our residency status? From what my immigration lawyer said, we have unconditional permanent residency.

Divorce will not affect your U.S. Permanent Resident status. Your attorney is correct.
