What is the process of marrying an illegal alien when i am a citizen of the US? How long does the process take to take affect? How do I go about doing this?

Since you are a citizen...you have to petition for your wife...should not take more than 3-6 months.

The process of marrying is the same as for anyone else. However the application process with the INS is different, since your spouse-to-be is an illegal alien. I strongly advise you to hire a lawyer. As they say, better safe than sorry!
