Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

a illegal friend of mine just got arrested last night from dui. and police said immigration is going to pick him up. i am wondering what will happened from there is he going to get deported?

He could be put in removal proceedings, however ICE is using prosecutorial discretion right now in who they "deport", so I cannot state with certainty that he will be removed (deported) based on this one DUI, especially if it is a misdemeanor & his 1st offense.
