Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Immigrating
Hi,
I have recently applied for my citizenship. I received a letter from INS stating that, I will be called for an interview within next 12 months. My question is , my children (they all over 21 years and all married), are able to immigrate to US, when I get my citizenship?
Please e mail me back. thank you

Re: Immigrating
I suggest that you apply now without wasting any time. Your children and their families will be given a priority date/number, which will significantly expedite their cases once you become a naturalized US citizen. Go to your immigration lawyer or call us (323)782-0099.
Re: Immigrating
Yes. Your children and their dependents will be eligible to immigrate once you acquire US citizenship, apply on their behalf and an immigrant number becomes available to them. They can not immediately, as they will have to wait for their priority date to become current, since they will not be considered immediate relatives (a category reserved for spouses and unmarried children under 21, etc. which has not subject to numerical limitations)of a USC they will be classified under the 3rd family preference category, which currently takes roughly six to seven years to process.
