Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Immigration Issues

My citizen wife petition me for green card. My I-130 is already approved, and i'm on the process of submitting my I-485(adjustment of status) but my wife decided to file divorce paper. What are my legal rights? and what can you advice in my case. By the way, I entered under visitor visa.

Re: Immigration Issues

Dear Inquirer:

If you are divorced before your I-485 is approved, the USCIS will revoke the I-130 approval. You may be able to seek a "self-petition," if the reason for the divorce was physical abuse or extreme mental cruelty.
