Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Immigration law

I have lived in U.S for 6 years and I will become a U.S. Citizen next month. I would like to request a green card for my wife which I married her back in home country few months ago. my question is, during the last two years I have been full time student in the University and I did not work as much therefore I had a very low income in my tax return for year 05and 06. My question is, would that create a problem for me if I want to request a green card for my wife?

Than you very much.

Re: Immigration law

You do not request a green card...you petition for her with many forms and extensive documentation. In your case you definitely need a co-sponsor.

Re: Immigration law

As per immigration guidelines, your minimum income for the year 2006 must be at least 17,112.00 if you have no dependents (other than your wife).
