Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Immigration...marrying a us citizen

I know that I need to get legal assistance to help with adjustments of status but first I would like some open advice.I traveled to America on a tourist Visa,I was volunteering rebuilding with habitat for humanity in New Orleans and I met a girl and fell in love. She traveled back to Europe with me & I then came back here,..I am now here on my tourist visa, and we intend to get married. Is it better to do so while my visa is still in status or if we do so after my visa expires what are the consequences with regards to my application.

In addition my sister is getting married in Ireland in July 2008, will I have permission to travel by then. Will it be risky to leave the country?

Do I need to prove my financial status,a certain amount of money in the bank to be granted legal work status?

Finally If replying with an offer of assistance, first please answer these questions, and provide an estimate of costs involved, including your company fees.

Many Thanks
