Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Immiration
I came to the U.S. when I was seven years old. I am now 19 years old. My mother was naturalized and we went to the oath ceremony. My I was naturalized through my mom but she never filed it. So now, my Green Card is expired and was lost along with all my other legal documents. I do have a copy of my social security card and my Green Card. Will I need to or would I be able to apply and renew my green card? What would I need to do? What can I do? Thank you.

First, you must calm down, okay? Now, how old were you when you mother became a citizen? Were you a green card holder at the time. If you were under 18, then you may have derived citizenship under your mother, but it depends. Obviously neither you nor your mom have bothered to contact an immigration attorney to determine whether you are citizen. I suggest you do that before you go running around looking for documents. Good luck!

You should contact your local USCIS district office for specific instructions as to this matter.
