Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Incident at Tijuana Border
I have a friend from France who was trying to come into the US through the border in Tijuana. For reasons I do not know, he was previously denied entry through Tijuana, even though he has a French passport. On this occasion, his girlfriend decided to drive to Tijuana and try to help him get through the border by talking to the border patrol and perhaps assisting with paperwork. I went with her, along with two other people, just for general support.
When we drove to the border, the guard looked at all our passports, was unsatisfied with the French passport, and had us pull over. We were all then frisked, stripped of our possessions, and taken in for questioning. Over a period of about six hours, we were separately asked questions about our relationship to the French person and what we were doing that night. Eventually we were all released, except for the Frenchman's girlfriend because she had apparantly changed her story and evaded questions. The Frenchman was deported, and his girlfriend must now await ''talking to a judge'' in May. My question is: Should I be worried about anything? Will I be summoned for anything? Incidentally, I was not driving the car.

Re: Incident at Tijuana Border
You do not need to worry. Was the girl friend given a notice to appear?
Is the girlfriend US citizen?
