Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
my interview prior getting my green card
Back in 2000 I had been charged in a domestic violence case with my ex-girlfriend, which the case was dismissed without any charges. Also the same year I had a wreckless driving case, which I paid 1,200 fine. For the last 9 years I do not have not even one traffic ticket. Will the 2 incidents stop cause a problem, although it was dismissed case, and deny my green card?

Re: my interview prior getting my green card
You should be OK if you bring documents to the interview showing that the domestic violence was dismissed with no charges. The reckless driving conviction is not something that could bar you from getting a green card as long as no one was injured or killed. With both incidents, you should be able to have good explanations of what happened and why they were mistakes you made in your life, and how sorry you are for what happened to not repeat them again.
