Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Hi, I am currently on L2 status and have an approved H1B petition (using consular processing) since I am currently in the US can I file a change of status from L2 to H1B? My L2 is valid till november 2012.
The status of my H1B petition comes into affect from October 2012.

No. If you did not file your I-129 petition (H-1B visa) as a "change of status", then you will have to return home & have your H-1B visa issued by the U.S. Consulate.
