Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

lost passport

My husband came here from mexico as a child with his mother on a passport. He now has no contact with his mother and no way of finding her. How do we go about replacing his passport? We dont know if she is still here in the usa or if she has returned to mexico. We need to obtain the passport information to show he came here legally so we can begin the process of getting him citizenship since our marraige.

Re: lost passport

Your husband needs to have a birth certificate or some kind of abstract of birth in order to prove his mexican citizenship. If you want to apply for your husband..we will need that!!!

As being abandoned in the US...you husband could have claimed US citizenship before he became 18.
