Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

marriage

I am a female US citizen living abroad in Europe wanting to return to the US. I was formerly married to a German citizen and have been divorced for 22 years. I have been engaged and living with my boyfriend for several years in Europe. He is of British nationality. We would like to move back to the US together. What are the best steps and where should we get married to avoid as much immigration hassle as possible.

Re: marriage

Most likely marriage in the US would be simpler. Otherwise, you can marry in Europe and then file for his immigration papers which will take a long while. It is better to have him here if possible, get married and then file for his papers if you both decide to stay in the US.
