Married with someone on j1

Hi,

i m an american citizen.I got my citizenshi this year in april.I got married with an indian girl in ji visa a few days .She is in us from one& a half year.Now i m looking to file the application for her immigration .What i need to file for this process.Her visa is goin to expire in nov.2008 if she will not get her work permit by the time do she suppose to go back or she can get her green card here.

Assuming she is not subject to the 2 year home residency requirement, you can apply for an adjustment of status.

Applying for adjustment of status cases like this is tricky for J-1 applicants due to a possible J-1 inadmissiblity cured only by a waiver.

Since she is from India...she could be having 2 years residency requirement. If that's the case she needs waiver or less you can file the adjustment of status.
