Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
marrying an illegal salvadoran
My girlfreind has been in this country for 3 years. She entered California without a visa, no papers. We want to get married but I found out that she cannot adjust her status after getting married. What are the options? Is it advisable to get married, will I get into trouble? Will ICE come looking for her?

Re: marrying an illegal salvadoran
You can apply for her permanent residence after marriage but she'll need to return to her home country by the time of the consular interview and likely file for a waiver of her unlawful presence.
